I used to be a huge lime crime fan, I spent a small fortune on their products and it was mainly because of their issues with stock! If I wanted to buy 3 or 4 products (I'm in the UK so it makes sense not to just buy one thing at a time), you could bet that at least one was out of stock and they were pretty rude when I asked about the restock via their Facebook page. I do think that they do it on purpose actually. Keep supply low so demand stays high and that there's a huge hype when they restock or launch a new product. Needless to say, its been a very long time since I've bought Lime Crime!
I can't believe people tolerate this. Not only tolerate, but defend it when customers are frustrated. Do they not realize waiting 16 hours to put in an order is probably the easiest part of the process. I predict lots of unicorns patiently waiting for their overpriced lipsticks. Well they should be patient, after all, it's just MAKE UP AND DOE DOESN'T OWE ANYONE ANYTHING! (not counting the product they purchased)
There is a significant number of people who are aware of her history and don't care because they like the products enough to look past it. That doesn't bother me. But I'm a little alarmed by the amount of people who really do believe that everything they've read (primarily the Dramatica article) is all lies, and that anyone who's being critical is just a jealous hater. Indeed, it is just makeup, but that's not really the issue. The real problem is her longstanding pattern of lousy business practices. I'll only believe she's making an honest effort to make things better when these restocks and sales actually go off without a hitch.
I have to say, I love Doe's photoshoots, and I'm really disappointed she hasn't done anything cool in a long time. I think Pink Velvet was the last one she's done for LC? Why isn't she at least doing those to promote her products? I'm a real sucker for those. XD
Also disappointed in all the "newtral" crap. I don't wear regular lipstick colors at all. I used to be in love with her whole concept. Thankfully, there are plenty of other brands with better prices and reputations.
Just so I can start out with a profile picture, this picture is of my idol Dada of Velvet Eden, not me.

I wonder if they just have a few photos of Lillipore's lips from different angles on hand to photoshop every time they release a new color.
Since Katie (@thedisneylandprincess)left Lime Crime, she's posted photos wearing Kat Von D's liquid lipsticks, Coloured Raine's regular lipstick, and now Anastasia Beverly Hill's liquid lipstick. She used to exclusively wear LC while working for them. That makes me think it's in the LC employee contract that they aren't aloud to wear/endorse other makeup brands on social media while in LC's employ. If so, that seems like an inappropriate amount of control to exercise over your employees, but maybe that's just me.
Anyway, not only has Katie started conspicuously trying other lip products since leaving LC, but she has said that ABH's lipsticks ARE BETTER THEN THE VELVETINES. That's right, someone who worked for LC for 2 years and got to test all the Velvetines up to Cashmere prefers ABH formula. Delicious.
If you read the comments on the 3 recent ABH related photos/videos, several people ask if they are better than the velvetines, and she answers yes, saying they were better in longevity, opacity, and application.
The prices are the same, but there is more product in ABH's, and apparently a better formula!
Edit: It will be interesting to see if their site crashes again when they finally restock Venus and launch Riot.

So basically because their last lot of velvetines have been so inconsistent with their colours that they decided to just save time with all the complaints and say it's on purpose. Like the other ones that haven't actually been marketed like that until the complaints come rolling in.
Hi- to my knowledge the MUA lip lacquers were only released a few years ago, whilst the Velvetines have been around a little longer (not by much though!) I have tried out most of the MUA ones and own a few of the LC ones in the corresponding 'dupe' colours. Although some of the colours are very similar, the formula is definitely not! Sadly, I've found the MUA to dry with an almost plastic feel on your lips and have nowhere near the lasting power of velvetines- granted, if you aren't eating or doing much they will stay on for hours, but once you eat they start to flake/almost peel off. I agree with everyone that says they are amazing for the price (they are, i mean, £3?!) but sadly I feel like everyone exaggerates how great they are because of their inexpensiveness. I'll continue to buy them, because i do like them, but I really wish I could love them as much as everyone seems to!
